What is Google Bard?

How does Google Bard work?

Bard utilizes the Pathways Language Model (PaLM2) which learns the connections between words, phrases, conversations, grammar, and everything to do with language to better predict what words should follow each other in a text. This is how it can produce material that appears quite natural, but again, it is simply imitating human language and not organically producing it.  

When did Google Bard release?

Google Bard became widely available in May of 2023. It is available in hundreds of countries and currently supports 46 different world languages.

Is Google Bard better than ChatGPT?

An important aspect of these tools to note is that they are both extremely similar and aim to accomplish the same goals. They both help generate text that simulates human language, and both can be used to answer questions and help solve problems. The true difference lies in the data sets that they are built upon.

Google Bard’s data set is larger than that of ChatGPT, but it is also an entirely different library of data. Larger doesn’t necessarily equate to better, but with the backing of one of the world’s largest companies and search engines, it seems likely that Google Bard will be able to outpace ChatGPT in this field. Bard is already being updated much more frequently and has access to more recent data than ChatGPT.
